If you've been following Silent Run, you may have noticed that we originally had today marked as our intended release date.
We're not launching today.
Not because development has stopped, quite the opposite.
Over the last few weeks, Silent Run has grown from an ambitious fishing app into something we believe has much greater long-term potential. That also meant taking a serious look at the technical foundation behind the platform and making sure we build it properly before putting it into anglers' hands.
A stronger development foundation
Silent Run is now working together with a new development company to strengthen the platform technically and prepare it properly for the future.
A significant amount of work is currently happening behind the scenes: restructuring parts of the application, improving reliability, preparing Android and iOS properly, strengthening offline functionality and making sure the platform can continue to evolve after launch.
Some of this work isn't immediately visible from the outside, but it is important.
We would rather spend more time getting the foundation right now than rush a release and create problems that become harder to fix later.
What happens next?
Our focus for the first release is becoming much clearer.
The aim is not to launch every idea we have on day one.
Instead, we want to release a solid first version around the features that make Silent Run useful and enjoyable from the start:
- the social experience;
- profiles and community interaction;
- sessions and catches;
- structured fishing data;
- challenges and badges;
- the first version of Silent Run Intelligence;
- a reliable Android and iOS experience.
More advanced features will continue to be introduced after launch.
Building with the community
We also want the first Silent Run users to have a genuine role in shaping what comes next.
Our early Founder community will have opportunities to provide direct feedback, take part in early challenges and help us understand which features deserve the most attention.
We have a lot planned, but we also want real anglers using the platform to influence where Silent Run goes next.
No rushed launch date
For now, we're deliberately not replacing the old countdown with another hard public date.
Development is moving quickly, and we are very happy with the progress, but stability and the underlying architecture come first.
Once the current foundation work is complete and the first-release feature scope has been finalised, we'll share a clearer launch window.
In the meantime, we'll start posting regular development updates here so you can follow exactly what is happening behind the scenes.
Silent Run is still coming. It's just being built on a much stronger foundation than originally planned.
Stay silent. Wait for the Run.
